Children find amusement in categorizing toys into groups like books, cars, blocks and dolls. Adults like to categorize people into groups such as professional, student, stay-home mom, homeless and more. The problem is that sometimes there are people who just do not fit neatly into any category.
Categorizing people is not a healthy habit. It is another form of judgement. There are phase in life where people are shifting from one category in life to another. There are many wonderful, kind and caring people in the world that are neglected by society based on their category. The next time you see a kind smile from a homeless man, former soldier, unemployed, mother, stay-home dad or anyone else return the smile with a kind jester. The truth is you never know if that person will be the next professional, teacher, chef, banker or even writer.
