Tomato Art Fest of Nashville, TN

The tomato is the red fruit grown from the Solanum Lycopersicum plant originated in South America. Tomatoes are one of the greatest and most popular fruits of all time. The red juicy fruit can be sliced and served solo, topped with balsamic vinegar, mozzarella, crushed into juice, chopped into salsa, made into sauce of spaghetti and pizza and many more ways.

Thanks to early Spanish colonization the tomato has spread globally and became a popular ingredient for most dinner recipes.

Last weekend my family and I had a great opportunity to attend the Tomato Art Fest in Nashville, TN. The festival was founded in 2004 by Meg and Best MacFayden, owners of East Nashville Art and Invention Gallery. Parents, children, singles and canine friends were among the crowds. The fest was full of vendors of fresh fruits, handmade wearables, jewelry, paintings, art, crafts and lots of food. Live music filled your ears while the aroma of foods tickled your nose. The photos below do not expose all the beauty, creativity, culture, fun and leisure there. I just want to say, thanks Nashville for having one awesome free fest!
