Yep, you heard it straight from the horses mouth. I have big goals, Texas style. I want so much. I want to be so much. I can see the me I want to be. I have the image down to the house, life style, family bonds, hobbies and everything else I want.
If you pick up any self-help book or article it says the first step to meeting your goal is to know what you want. I have mastered this step. I have it down, all the way down.
The issue is this. How do you get from point A to point B with only a goal? I’m not sure. I can tell you one thing. Everyone that I’ve ever met that has ever accomplished a goal has had some kind of plan in getting there.
Think about that. If you want to take a trip. Do you map it out? Do look for rest stops on the way? Do you plan each and every minute? Most people will say, “yes, right down to the T.”
I think the reason most people, to include myself, do not achieve a goal is due to lack of planning. If you ever have the chance to meet a marathon runner and ask them how they achieved a goal. They usually say, “I trained.”
Today, during this Texas cold spell, I am going to take time to plan out my April goal. Why? Well, I think that splitting my goal up into steps is the key that most of us, to include myself, are missing. Self-help books and articles fill us up with so much hype that we just jump in on the big picture. What we forgot to do is plan it out.
