The Kentucky Bourbon Festival was held 13 to 18 September. This free festival was full of family entertainment. One of the most popular annual events is the Championship bourbon barrel racing. The object is to move the 500 lb barrels from start to the wooden racks in the fastest time.
The first place winners were Jim Beam Distillary, second place went to Heaven Hill Distillary and third place was Buffalo Hill Distillary.
In addition to the vast amount of food vendor there were also many bourbon candy, cake, syrups and more
On hand were samples of bourbons from the distillaries. There were even small gift shops with a large selection of gifts, t-shirts, bourbon and more. Most notably the master distillary of Jim Beam was on sight to autograph and answer your questions.
